I first started teaching English as a foreign language when I was 11 years old living in Madrid. My school was
pretty small and the one English teacher only knew the alphabet and a few phrases. So, she taught me Spanish and I taught
her English. I was just a kid, and don't even remember her name now... but I'll always love and respect that woman because
she was always kind and patient with me.

I've lived in and traveled through 24 countries since I was 6 years old
when my family first moved to Cambridge England. When I was a child, my father did research and taught at several
universities in Europe. As an adult I traveled because worked as a journalist and because I loved it. Still do,
too!
