Dazzling Display of Costume Design
at Konyang University
The
haute couture of Korea
strutted down the catwalk at Konyang University's'
8th annual Costume Design Fashion Show, May 30th 2007. A
sumptuous display of historically authentic and modern clothing led the audience through the hallways of history into contemporary
sporty fashion design.
The
breathtaking colors, fabrics and designs held everyone under hypnotic control, timed to the pulsating beat of the music and
polished, walk and pose artwork of the professional models.
Sewn
with extreme attention to detail, the costumes ranged from Joseon Dynasty high fashion into the future. Ancient and totally modern Korea
were done proud with this collection.
Over
a thousand spectators, buyers, photographers and reporters packed into the auditorium to savor this fantastically unique collection
of ultra-vintage and hot contemporary pieces.
The
multifaceted Costume Design Department at Konyang University is led by Professor Park Eun-hee.
A
principal designer included Lee Seo-hee.
This
department has had an illustrious career with pieces used in Korean television and movie productions. Surely international fame is just around the corner for this bright spot in theater arts design.
